House rules for the ReMews forum

• Say what you tried, what changed and what did not. Specifics help more than opinions.
• Give the useful details: the cat's age, the food, how long the behaviour has lasted.
• Answer the question that was asked, even if the answer is that it needs a vet.
• Disagree with the idea, not with the person. Different households genuinely differ.
• Say when you are not sure. A hedged answer beats a confident guess.

• Unlawful content, or anything that promotes or helps criminal activity.
• Threats, harassment, personal attacks and deliberate abuse.
• Publishing someone else's private or identifying details.
• Spam, scams, deceptive advertising, undisclosed promotion and malicious links.
• Copying other people's writing or photos without the right to use them.
• Impersonating another person, a vet, a brand or the ReMews desk.
• Anything that encourages animal cruelty or neglect.
• Dangerous claims presented as professional veterinary advice, including home treatments for emergencies.
• Sexual content, and anything else unlawful.
• Attempts to work around moderation, including new accounts made to keep posting.

ReMews is not a veterinary clinic and the forum is not a diagnosis. If a cat may be ill, injured, poisoned or in an emergency, contact a vet. Members are welcome to share experience, but nobody here should be telling someone to skip veterinary care.

We read reports by hand. Depending on what we find, we may leave the post alone, edit nothing and reply in the thread, remove the content, limit its visibility, warn the author, or restrict the account. Repeated or serious breaches lead to suspension.

We do not pre-screen every post, and moderation is not there to remove disagreement. Where the law requires it, we will explain a decision to the people it affects and how to contest it.

Every thread and reply has a Report action. Use it and tell us what is wrong in your own words.

For content you believe is illegal, including content posted by someone you do not want to contact, use the report form. It works without an account. Please include the address of the content and why you believe it is illegal.

You can edit or delete your own threads and replies at any time. You can also delete your whole account from your profile page, which detaches your posts from your account. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
